Nausea is the most common side effect of a healthy pregnancy. It is also one of the most annoying to boot. More than half of all pregnant women have had morning sickness, and will have it again. Just because you have it once doesn’t mean you will have it again. Others may have it everyday for several weeks. Also, if you don’t have morning sickness, this doesn’t mean your pregnancy is abnormal.Article List

Pros and Cons of Signing on with a Boutique Modeling Agency
Typically, there are two options for individuals trying to break into the world of modeling.
They can either pursue a relationship with a Boutique modeling agency,
or
with a corporate modeling agency.
While there are positives and negatives of both, the focus here will remain on Boutique modeling agencies that are available to aspiring models. There are pros and cons to this approach, and both will be explored in order to get an unbiased look and view of working as a model from this particular career angel.
Name of the agency alone is not what will determine the success of an individual. As a result, it is perfectly acceptable to go with a boutique modeling agency, and there are a number of other advantageous reasons as well.
Not only will a model candidate be able to sit down and discuss her career goals and options with enthused and informative individuals at the agency, but the model candidate will also be able to have a loving and friendly support structure in the agency, since they are typically smaller and have the time and abilities to give more personalized care and attention to their models.
This is beneficial since it helps every to have a support system in place when work is being performed, and it also allows the model to have more control over her future and career. If there are any questions that the model has over the course of her experience, she is in more of a position to ask questions and have them answered honestly and simply.
In addition, these types of places will also work on a more well-rounded scale in order to utilize all the positives of the model candidate, and will typically not file her into one category without exploring her other attributes and abilities. This opens up more work to the model and also allows her to feel more fulfilled and satisfied in many cases because she is not limited in any way when it comes to her career and options for success.
However, when it comes to booking jobs, many clients may overlook the smaller boutique agencies, and simply offer jobs to the bigger names in modeling agencies. Despite the fact that there is a wealth of potential in boutique modeling agencies, many clients will simply not know where to look first, and will settle by calling names of companies that they have heard of before, and will end up thinking that this is their only resource for models. It is also important to look out for tips that the boutiques may be having financial problems.
This is because many of these agencies are small and family owned and operated. As a result, when anything goes wrong, they may not be able to pay their models, and the models will end up losing money if the boutiques file for bankruptcy. A sign that this may be about to happen would include a doing away with of advances that a model was previously receiving and then stopped receiving.
In general, the decision is left up to the individual as to how they believe they should go about advancing their own career. This is a great way for individuals, especially those who are new to the modeling world, to break into a career, but it does not mean that they should be ignorant about the process.
There are still things that they should be on the lookout for, but barring any ignorance of these important items to keep tabs on, they should be able to succeed well in this type of environment when it comes to modeling.

Five Tips to Avoid Weight Gain when calling it quits on Smoking
One concern of many who try to quit smoking is the possibility of weight gain. In truth, it does happen. Not to everyone, but it does happen. On the other hand, some people actually lose weight when they quit smoking and others stay the same. In addition, those who do gain weight often lose it again in a few months after giving up smoking.
The reasons for weight gain after smoking cessation are varied. For some, smoking actually reduces the appetite. For others, food actually tastes better because their sense of taste has returned. Yet others are in the habit of smoking after a meal. Since they can’t smoke, they choose a second helping over a cigarette. For these people eating more than they did while smoking is the cause of the weight gain.
There are also physical changes that occur to the body from smoking. Smoking does increase a person’s metabolic rate, which causes calories to burn more quickly. In addition, the body doesn’t digest food properly and insulin levels are depressed, which can reduce weight gain. In fact, a heavy smoker can burn up to 200 calories per day from the increased metabolism of smoking.
Make Smoking Your First Priority
Research into the connection between weight gain and smoking cessation has shown that it is best to make smoking your first priority, then, once this is successfully managed, you can look at losing weight if necessary. Trying to quit smoking can be stressful as it is, you don’t need to stress yourself out more by worrying about weight gain. Combining both will only serve to stress you more.
Monitor Your Food Intake
Since smoking does increase your metabolic rate, you might want to make a few changes in your diet to compensate for the lack of metabolism. This may not always be necessary. In fact, you may be able to continue your normal diet without gaining weight. But, if you are really concerned about the possibility of gaining weight, you can cut back on a few simple things – such as butter – to reduce your caloric intake.
Some “food” for thought – eliminating the following foods from your diet will help you “make up” those extra 200 calories that may not be getting burned now that you have quit smoking:
1 hot dog and roll = 250 calories
2 frozen waffles = 240 calories
20 potato chips = 220 calories
2 light beers = 220 calories
2 oz of cheddar cheese = 220 calories
4 chocolate sandwich cookies = 213 calories
1 small order of McDonald’s fries = 210 calories
½ cup of macaroni and cheese = 205 calories
2 tablespoons of butter = 200 calories
Increase Activity
Even a small amount of added activity can help compensate for the calories that may be no longer burned off when quitting smoking. Now that you have quit smoking, your energy levels should be higher, which should make it easier for you to engage in physical activity. For example, a brisk 45 minute walk will burn 200 calories, as will 30 minutes of swimming laps. In addition, engaging in these activities can help keep your mind off cravings by distracting you from smoking and helping reduce stress and tension. In fact, your brain releases endorphins when you exercise, which helps make you feel better, and increases your metabolism, which helps you burn calories faster and more efficiently.
Satisfy the Oral Fixation
For many smokers, the primary gratification of smoking is to satisfy the oral fixation. Don’t substitute food for cigarettes to fulfill this desire. Wait to eat until after the urge to smoke subsides. For starters, eating every time you want a cigarette can certainly lead to weight gain! Secondly, you don’t want to substitute food for cigarettes, and eating when you have a craving will “train” your body to rely on food the same way it did cigarettes. Instead, chew a piece of gum.
Drink Fluids
Drinking lots of water has two benefits. First, it makes you feel full, which will make you less likely to overeat. Second, it helps flush out the toxins in your body – namely nicotine. If you absolutely must have something with flavor, try to avoid soft drinks. Instead, keep club soda and vegetable juices on hand.

Understanding What a Virtual Assistant Can Do
I hear the term “Virtual Assistant” more and more in business. Did you know that you could possibly hire someone from another continent that works while you sleep and maybe for $8 – $12 Dollars. Mos t of the VA’s I work with have degrees and one an MBA in Business Admin. I pay her a pautry $15.00 per hour and what a bargain that is.
.
With the growth of virtual assistants has also been a change in what it means to be a virtual assistant. The leaders and founders of this particular entrepreneurial job have made distinctions between what it means to be a virtual assistant, and what it doesn’t mean. When you are explaining your business to others, you want to make sure to keep this standard.
Being a virtual assistant is becoming a distinct definition of a specific home owned business. It is expected that the standards will be upheld of a virtual assistant for all others who are working in this profession. This means that a virtual assistant is someone who provides a variety of services to businesses and individuals following the standard that has become formalized in the past decade.
The first angle that is taken towards approaching what a virtual assistant is includes the idea of being virtual. If you are not working out of your home, or remotely, then you are not considered a virtual assistant. Instead, it is considered to be a temporary job or a telecommuting job. One of the standards for being a virtual assistant is having the freedom to work where you want.
The second part to being a virtual assistant is the distinction that is made in the job description. Most virtual assistants will cringe at the idea of being called a secretary or freelance worker. Technically, a freelance worker is one who only does the job for extra income. At the same time, a secretary is one who doesn’t do the work continuously with only one client. A virtual assistant is provided in order to create a substantial and long term relationship with a business. Here are 5 things you should consider in a Virtual Assistant?
1. Professionalism. Does the VA answer her or his emails, voicemails and other correspondence in a timely and professional manner? It is important if this person is to work for you has the right skills to not keep you or a deadline waitng. Make sure you give a covert task to her or him to pass that shows comittment to deadlines.
2. Project Management. Juggling tasks nowadays is vital. We now tap out feet in front of the microwave so things need to get done. If a person cannot work with a few projects on the go you might want to move on. I guarantee you will only find out that they have a project management problem when you lose “the big deal”.
3. Availability. Many of these people work for several people at the same time. It is not uncommon for you as an employer to be in a funnel system for the VA. You slowly move down the funnel as they take on better contracts from new virtual employers. Be aware that you and your project will get dropped at the most time you least need it. You also need to be lining up new VA’s. Try to split your work between 2 or more VA’s to combat this problem.
4. Test. Give the VA a mini project before going ahead with a contract. I also give a minimum of 2 tasks that cost no more than $30 -$40 to complete. I need them done correctly and to my total satisfaction before I even consider this person. It is simple to hire one of the first few people to come along but please shortlist at least 10 and give the tasks to 2 of the 10 you shortlisted. Obviously make sure these tasks are something you actually want doe, dont waste any money.
5. Get References. Can the VA give you a list of people whom you can contact who will tell you about working with her or him?
The main distinction that most virtual assistants will work towards creating is the idea of being in a relationship with a business, and making this their business. This goes beyond the Expectations of any temporary work or telecommuting job. It also means that the services a virtual assistant can provide will go outside of job descriptions that are made in the office. By understanding the standards for being a virtual assistant, you can best approach this in your own relationships with businesses.

5 Days to Positive Inner Dialogue
In order to be self-confident, eventually you are going to have to silence the critics inside your mind. Sometimes they sound like mom or dad, sometimes like an old teacher or a respected friend. You’ve got to train yourself to see the truth. Those aren’t really the voices of your loved (or not so loved) ones. You control what they say, and what you hear.
Day One: Face Yourself
Go ahead and face yourself, once and for all. Look in the mirror. What expression do you see staring back at you? A happy one? A sad one? Suspicious? Angry? If you’ve got something nasty to say, get it off your chest now. Then let it go. You’ve chosen the path of self-support, so the criticisms – for right now – don’t matter anymore.
Day Two: Exercise Your Ego
Look you in the mirror again, only this time, be prepared to turn your words around. Remember the old saying in school? Three put-ups for one put-down? Put that into effect in your bathroom. Every negative thing you said yesterday needs to be refuted, replaced and erased by three good things you see in yourself.
And yes, you do have to say them out loud. We want you to remember what compliments sound like. We want you to differentiate between the honest comments spoken aloud, and the negative inner dialogue that holds you back out of fear.
Day Three: Keep the Music Alive
Sometimes, what’s inside your head can drown out all the good in the world. Train yourself to do the opposite. Listen to some of your favorite songs, and play them in your head whenever those negative voices kick in. If you’re angry, play an intense song in your head. Prong. Pink Floyd. Napalm Death. If you’re sad, a little Dave Matthews Band may do the trick.
Force yourself to think in emotions versus words, because too often the words we choose don’t really talk about how we feel. They avoid feeling out of the fear of pain and skip straight to criticism.
Criticism robs us of self-confidence. Pain helps us see who we really are.
Day Four: Laughing Out Loud
Your negative dialogue starts to panic. It’s being replaced. What will you do to hold yourself back? It’s truly amazing how far our subconscious will go to prevent improvement just to avoid the risks that come with change.
Sometimes this results in an all around foul mood. A funk that keeps you indoors, out of the sun, away from friends, and hunkered down at home. That on its own can sabotage a number of goals, which in turn leads to failure and self-doubt.
What can we do to change that? It’s as simple as flicking on the TV, or running out to see a funny movie. Comedies, comic strips, joke books – they all make us laugh. And laughter is undeniably the best medicine for an ailing soul.
Day Five: Be Receptive to Compliments
If any, the midpoint will be the hardest piece of the puzzle to accept. You’ve found ways of dealing with the negative voices from outside your own head. An effective way to engage in positive inner dialogue however is to daydream, and create separate positive voices. Once you force their voices, it’s easier for them to talk on their own.
So who do you begin with? And how do you go about this without feeling so ridiculous?
If you pay attention from day to day, you will find many people paying you compliments you didn’t notice before. “Thank you,” by itself can boost your self-esteem. Catch hold of these and replay them throughout the day in your mind. A particularly beautiful young lady, or attractive gentleman may become a life-long friend … inside your head.
As time goes on you can add to the cast of characters. Just as parents, friends, and teachers can take up negative space in your brain, so can they fill it with loving support. Remember, the words aren’t being said by anyone else. The choice is yours.

10 Exciting Bridal Shower Game Ideas
The bridal shower is an opportunity for the women in the future bride’s life to honor her with a simple luncheon or get together filled with good food, fun and games. Many bridal showers feature a series of games that are not only a great deal of fun but also allow a bonding opportunity for all of the women at the party and sometimes serve the purpose of completing a task for the bride to be.
A game that encourages the participants to get to know each other is always a fun game with which to start the party. One game you can play is known as the Name Tag Game which encourages guest to mingle with the other guests. In this game, the hostess writes the name of each of the guests along with a word related to weddings such as veil, favors, groom, etc on a name tag.
The rules of the game are that you are not allowed to say the word on your name tag or else you lose your name tag to the person who got you to say the word. If you acquire one or more additional name tags you are tasked with not saying any of the words on either your name tag or any of the other tags. If you say the word on your tag, you have to relinquish it to the person who got you to say the word and if you say the word on one of the other tags, you also have to give that person the tag plus you have to introduce them to the person from whom you had acquired the tag. There is usually a pre-determined time limit for this game and the person with the most tags when time runs out is the winner.
The Purse Game is another popular bridal shower idea. This is a simple game where the hostess draws up a list of items likely to appear in a woman’s purse and assigns a point value to each item ranging from 1-5 depending on how unusual the item is. For example car keys might be a 1 on the scale, a mirror a 3 and an eye lash curler a 5. The hostess might also choose to allow 10 bonus points for the woman who can produce the most outrageous item from her purse. The woman with the most points wins the game. Another variation of this game is to have a list of items and call out the items one at a time. The first woman to find each item and hand it to the person judging the game wins one point. After the entire list has been completed, the woman with the most points is proclaimed the winner.
Another common bridal shower game is the Television Couple Game. In this game the hostess will read out the first names of a television couple and the guests try to guess the last name of the couple. A few examples clues along with the answers are George and Jane – Jetson, Al and Peg – Bundy, Ward and June – Cleaver. One point could be awarded for each correct answer or a point system could be established to award more points to more obscure references. This game is also sometimes called the Famous Couple Game and includes references to celebrities or political figures and their real spouses such as Bill and Hillary – Clinton.
Bridal Shower Bingo is another simple bridal shower game. This game is played just like regular bingo except that instead of using letters and numbers for the spaces, each space is filled with a word or words that relate to weddings, love or marriage such as wedding dress, favors, eternal, true, rings, etc. The host makes up the bingo cards ahead of time and puts a piece of paper with each word used on the cards into a large bowl. During the game, the hostess will draw out a word and read it allowed and each participant will mark that square on their card. The first person to complete an entire row, column or diagonal wins the game.
One bridal shower game that can be a real benefit to the bride to be is a simple drawing. The hostess may purchase a few inexpensive gifts for the drawing and ask each participant to fill out an envelope with their name and address to enter the drawing. The hostess then picks out a name for each prize. This is a fun game because it offers the participants a chance to win a prize plus it really helps out the guest of honor because she can use the envelopes to send out her thank you cards after the party.
The Who Am I Game is another bridal shower game that encourages guests to interact with each other. In this game, the host prints out pictures of characters from romantic books or movies and tapes one character to the back of each guests so that other guests can see the picture but the person wearing the picture cannot. The point of the game is to ask other guests questions where the answer is either yes or no to try to determine who is on the picture on your back. At the end of the party, each guest takes a guess at who is depicted in the photo on their back.
The Wedding Jumble is another fun bridal shower game. For this game the hostess will prepare a list of words relat
ed to a wedding day such as toast, limousine, receptions, and vows. Next the hostess will scramble each word so that the letters are out of order and provide each guest with a copy of the scrambled words. The guest will be given a set amount of time to unscramble the words and the person who unscrambles the most words wins. If more than one person gets all of the words correct then the person who did so in the fastest time is the winner.
The Wedding Day Obstacle Course is another game that can really help out the bride. In this amusing game each guest is timed individually on how fast they can complete a series of tasks such as wrapping a wedding favor, addressing envelopes, filling out a place card, assembling a centerpiece, or whatever other projects the bride has in progress that can be incorporated into the game. Not only is this a game that is both fun to watch and participate in but it also helps the bride to complete some of the tasks on her list.
The Bridal Shower Memory Game is also very popular. The typical way to play this game is to have a tray filled with various household items. Bring out the tray and allow the guests to study the items for a few minutes and then take the tray away and ask questions about the items such as, where the spoon was and what color was the spatula. This game could also be modified to have one of the guests bring the tray out and then leave the room to take the tray away. You could then catch the guests by surprise by asking questions about the person who carried the tray such as what color shirt were they wearing or on which finger was she wearing a ring instead of asking questions about the contents of the tray.
The Price is Right Game can also be a great deal of fun at bridal showers and can serve to benefit the bride as well. For this game the hostess will purchase about 10 different items that will be useful for the couple such as towels, soap dispensers, household cleaners, etc. and have the guests try to guess the price of either all the items combined or each item individually. This is not only a fun game but the bride also gets to keep the items which makes it useful for her.
All of these games are a lot of fun to play at a bridal shower and they encourage the guests to get to know each other in a casual atmosphere. Some of these games even serve the purpose of helping to complete some of the bride’s last minute projects. The fun of these games is that they help people to get to know each other better which is helpful especially if the bride and grooms’ families don’t know each other well.

Teach Your Dog to Fetch
The time has come to have a bit of fun with your pet. You step out the door, unhook the leash and throw a tennis ball to the other end of the yard… And your dog looks up at you like you just lost your mind. What went wrong? Looks like its time to head back to the training ground for Fetch lessons.
Fetch is a simple command and is taught easily to puppies but is not beyond the grasp of older dogs as well. In this simple form of a rudimentary game, fetch is primarily used as an entertainment with a primary purpose of creating bonding time between dog and trainer. In more advanced forms, it is used in police dog training for such things as weapon recovery and drug location. So how do we go about teaching this behavior?
One of the basic methods of training the fetch command is using two toys in a bait and switch routine. The toys must be identical and something the dog enjoys playing with. Starting with the dog on a leash or a halter, hide one of the toys on your person and throw the other a short distance after showing it to your pet. Release the dog from the leash and say “fetch” or whatever cue word you choose. The dog will chase after the toy and, most likely, will pick it up.
When the animal starts to return with the first toy, produce the hidden one. The animal will likely drop the toy they are carrying in favor of the new toy. When this happens, wait for the dog to return to you and be reattached to the leash before throwing the new toy. After throwing the new toy, say “fetch” while releasing the animal to give chase. While your dog is chasing the new toy, run and retrieve the first toy. Repeat this process several times using the fetch command.
For dogs that are not toy motivated, try adding a bit of flavoring to the game by way of some meat spread or some food reward when the behavior is carried out properly. Toys such as the Kong toys are great for this as they can be stuffed with all manner of pleasant surprises for your pet.
Another method is the forced retrieve. This is accomplished by throwing the toy a short distance and manually walking the dog to the object and waiting for them to pick it up. Reward them generously for finding and picking up the object. In further stages, have a partner walk the dog out for the pick up and then have them walked back to you with the item. Again reward them generously for making the retrieve.
A few of the common tips given by many pet trainers are quite useful in this area. One of the first is not to go for long distance throwing. Short throws are easier for the animal to keep a visual on and require less concentration. They also make for less work for the trainer should the dog fail to adequately grasp the concept. Another point is to reserve fetch toys for fetch.
If you let your dog play with the toy all the time, they lose their novelty and the dogs drive to chase them will be greatly diminished. If you make the dog wait to play with these toys then they are a special treat and the dog will see the toy itself as a reward. Another tip is to be certain to hold the animal a moment before allowing them to chase the object.
This gives them a moment to clearly focus on the objective and to build a stronger desire to retrieve the object they seek. Thus, when they are released, they spring to the object in a flurry of motion and grasp it up easily. Another wonderful tip is to avoid the use of sticks as fetch toys. They are hard on the animal’s mouth and may contain parasites or poisonous substances, not to mention confusing the animal if you play near an area with tree growth.
With these simple techniques and tips mastered, you are ready to take to the park with your Frisbee, tennis ball or throwing dummy and enjoy a great afternoon of exercise and bonding with your pet.

Foundation Facts – Determining the Best Base for Your Makeup Routine
Everyone has their own natural beauty. And for centuries, ladies have been using makeup in some form or fashion to enhance that beauty. These days, the cosmetic industry is booming with a plethora of products from eyebrow pencils to lipsticks to eye shadows to foundation. It is foundation, or liquid makeup, that provides the base for most women’s beauty regiments.
Obviously, with the variety of ethnicity and skin types, all foundations are not created equal. So how do you decide which foundation is right for you? First of all, you have to know where to buy your foundation. You can purchase your makeup from the grocery store or even a pharmacy. And while there are some great makeup buys at those stores like eye pencils and lipsticks, the best place to buy your foundation is a department store. The makeup counters have experienced personnel who know about the various products that complement certain skin types as well as matching the skin tone and application techniques.
One of the first things you have to consider in regards to choosing the foundation that works best for you is your skin type. What condition is your skin in? Do you have dry or flaky skin? What about oily skin? Or maybe, your skin is a combination of the two. If you are a little unsure of what may describe your skin condition, ask for the opinion of the makeup consultant at the department store beauty counter.
After determining your skin type, you have to decide which foundation formula would best suit your needs. If your skin is dry, hydrating or moisturizing foundation formulas are great choices to provide a great base for you beauty regiment. Oil control foundations work best for the oily skin. And if you are prone to breakouts, look for formulas that cater to acne-free results. When you have combination skin, you need to find a foundation formula that would suit both oiliness and dryness.
When shopping for new foundation, make sure that you are not wearing makeup already. Having a clean face will ensure that you can apply a few colors of foundation on your face without it clashing with something else. Determining your skin tone is very helpful in choosing the best foundation as the basis for your makeup. Fair skin might require a foundation with rosy undertones while a darker complexion might need something more yellow-based in color. With the multitude of skin colors – from the fair skin of Caucasians to the olive complexions of Latin descendants to the darker undertones of African Americans or Middle East Asians, there are a countless shades to choose from.
Pick the two or three shades that you think might best suit your skin tone. Apply the foundation shades at various places along your jaw line. Your skin in this area is the most true to the type of makeup color you need. Whatever you do, do not apply the makeup on your wrist or hand because these are not optimal areas to best determine the foundation’s tone and color. Because the lighting in the store is mostly fluorescent, you want to go outside in natural sunlight to look at how well the foundation blends in with your skin. Your best selection would be the one foundation that is virtually undetectable on your skin. You should be the one wearing your makeup, not the makeup wearing you.
The reason why buying your foundation at a department store is stressed is because no
one person perfects fits the standards colors you may find in a pharmacy or grocery store. For the most part, people are in between shades. The department stores offer higher end foundations that are possible to custom blend into the shade you require. Another reason that department stores are optimal for your foundation purchase is because the makeup consultants can give you tips on applying your foundation as well as suggest complementary products or alternatives that you may not have thought of like concealer or tinted sunscreen or moisturizer.
Be sure and think about what you want out of your foundation as well. Do you want light and natural or something that makes your skin more luminous for evening events? How about a satiny finish or matte finish? The possibilities are many, but your needs are few. Decide what role your makeup will play in your daily life and activities and choose the best foundation that fits that role.
