10 Exciting Bridal Shower Game Ideas
The bridal shower is an opportunity for the women in the future bride’s life to honor her with a simple luncheon or get together filled with good food, fun and games. Many bridal showers feature a series of games that are not only a great deal of fun but also allow a bonding opportunity for all of the women at the party and sometimes serve the purpose of completing a task for the bride to be.
A game that encourages the participants to get to know each other is always a fun game with which to start the party. One game you can play is known as the Name Tag Game which encourages guest to mingle with the other guests. In this game, the hostess writes the name of each of the guests along with a word related to weddings such as veil, favors, groom, etc on a name tag.
The rules of the game are that you are not allowed to say the word on your name tag or else you lose your name tag to the person who got you to say the word. If you acquire one or more additional name tags you are tasked with not saying any of the words on either your name tag or any of the other tags. If you say the word on your tag, you have to relinquish it to the person who got you to say the word and if you say the word on one of the other tags, you also have to give that person the tag plus you have to introduce them to the person from whom you had acquired the tag. There is usually a pre-determined time limit for this game and the person with the most tags when time runs out is the winner.
The Purse Game is another popular bridal shower idea. This is a simple game where the hostess draws up a list of items likely to appear in a woman’s purse and assigns a point value to each item ranging from 1-5 depending on how unusual the item is. For example car keys might be a 1 on the scale, a mirror a 3 and an eye lash curler a 5. The hostess might also choose to allow 10 bonus points for the woman who can produce the most outrageous item from her purse. The woman with the most points wins the game. Another variation of this game is to have a list of items and call out the items one at a time. The first woman to find each item and hand it to the person judging the game wins one point. After the entire list has been completed, the woman with the most points is proclaimed the winner.
Another common bridal shower game is the Television Couple Game. In this game the hostess will read out the first names of a television couple and the guests try to guess the last name of the couple. A few examples clues along with the answers are George and Jane – Jetson, Al and Peg – Bundy, Ward and June – Cleaver. One point could be awarded for each correct answer or a point system could be established to award more points to more obscure references. This game is also sometimes called the Famous Couple Game and includes references to celebrities or political figures and their real spouses such as Bill and Hillary – Clinton.
Bridal Shower Bingo is another simple bridal shower game. This game is played just like regular bingo except that instead of using letters and numbers for the spaces, each space is filled with a word or words that relate to weddings, love or marriage such as wedding dress, favors, eternal, true, rings, etc. The host makes up the bingo cards ahead of time and puts a piece of paper with each word used on the cards into a large bowl. During the game, the hostess will draw out a word and read it allowed and each participant will mark that square on their card. The first person to complete an entire row, column or diagonal wins the game.
One bridal shower game that can be a real benefit to the bride to be is a simple drawing. The hostess may purchase a few inexpensive gifts for the drawing and ask each participant to fill out an envelope with their name and address to enter the drawing. The hostess then picks out a name for each prize. This is a fun game because it offers the participants a chance to win a prize plus it really helps out the guest of honor because she can use the envelopes to send out her thank you cards after the party.
The Who Am I Game is another bridal shower game that encourages guests to interact with each other. In this game, the host prints out pictures of characters from romantic books or movies and tapes one character to the back of each guests so that other guests can see the picture but the person wearing the picture cannot. The point of the game is to ask other guests questions where the answer is either yes or no to try to determine who is on the picture on your back. At the end of the party, each guest takes a guess at who is depicted in the photo on their back.
The Wedding Jumble is another fun bridal shower game. For this game the hostess will prepare a list of words relat
ed to a wedding day such as toast, limousine, receptions, and vows. Next the hostess will scramble each word so that the letters are out of order and provide each guest with a copy of the scrambled words. The guest will be given a set amount of time to unscramble the words and the person who unscrambles the most words wins. If more than one person gets all of the words correct then the person who did so in the fastest time is the winner.
The Wedding Day Obstacle Course is another game that can really help out the bride. In this amusing game each guest is timed individually on how fast they can complete a series of tasks such as wrapping a wedding favor, addressing envelopes, filling out a place card, assembling a centerpiece, or whatever other projects the bride has in progress that can be incorporated into the game. Not only is this a game that is both fun to watch and participate in but it also helps the bride to complete some of the tasks on her list.
The Bridal Shower Memory Game is also very popular. The typical way to play this game is to have a tray filled with various household items. Bring out the tray and allow the guests to study the items for a few minutes and then take the tray away and ask questions about the items such as, where the spoon was and what color was the spatula. This game could also be modified to have one of the guests bring the tray out and then leave the room to take the tray away. You could then catch the guests by surprise by asking questions about the person who carried the tray such as what color shirt were they wearing or on which finger was she wearing a ring instead of asking questions about the contents of the tray.
The Price is Right Game can also be a great deal of fun at bridal showers and can serve to benefit the bride as well. For this game the hostess will purchase about 10 different items that will be useful for the couple such as towels, soap dispensers, household cleaners, etc. and have the guests try to guess the price of either all the items combined or each item individually. This is not only a fun game but the bride also gets to keep the items which makes it useful for her.
All of these games are a lot of fun to play at a bridal shower and they encourage the guests to get to know each other in a casual atmosphere. Some of these games even serve the purpose of helping to complete some of the bride’s last minute projects. The fun of these games is that they help people to get to know each other better which is helpful especially if the bride and grooms’ families don’t know each other well.

Teach Your Dog to Fetch
The time has come to have a bit of fun with your pet. You step out the door, unhook the leash and throw a tennis ball to the other end of the yard… And your dog looks up at you like you just lost your mind. What went wrong? Looks like its time to head back to the training ground for Fetch lessons.
Fetch is a simple command and is taught easily to puppies but is not beyond the grasp of older dogs as well. In this simple form of a rudimentary game, fetch is primarily used as an entertainment with a primary purpose of creating bonding time between dog and trainer. In more advanced forms, it is used in police dog training for such things as weapon recovery and drug location. So how do we go about teaching this behavior?
One of the basic methods of training the fetch command is using two toys in a bait and switch routine. The toys must be identical and something the dog enjoys playing with. Starting with the dog on a leash or a halter, hide one of the toys on your person and throw the other a short distance after showing it to your pet. Release the dog from the leash and say “fetch” or whatever cue word you choose. The dog will chase after the toy and, most likely, will pick it up.
When the animal starts to return with the first toy, produce the hidden one. The animal will likely drop the toy they are carrying in favor of the new toy. When this happens, wait for the dog to return to you and be reattached to the leash before throwing the new toy. After throwing the new toy, say “fetch” while releasing the animal to give chase. While your dog is chasing the new toy, run and retrieve the first toy. Repeat this process several times using the fetch command.
For dogs that are not toy motivated, try adding a bit of flavoring to the game by way of some meat spread or some food reward when the behavior is carried out properly. Toys such as the Kong toys are great for this as they can be stuffed with all manner of pleasant surprises for your pet.
Another method is the forced retrieve. This is accomplished by throwing the toy a short distance and manually walking the dog to the object and waiting for them to pick it up. Reward them generously for finding and picking up the object. In further stages, have a partner walk the dog out for the pick up and then have them walked back to you with the item. Again reward them generously for making the retrieve.
A few of the common tips given by many pet trainers are quite useful in this area. One of the first is not to go for long distance throwing. Short throws are easier for the animal to keep a visual on and require less concentration. They also make for less work for the trainer should the dog fail to adequately grasp the concept. Another point is to reserve fetch toys for fetch.
If you let your dog play with the toy all the time, they lose their novelty and the dogs drive to chase them will be greatly diminished. If you make the dog wait to play with these toys then they are a special treat and the dog will see the toy itself as a reward. Another tip is to be certain to hold the animal a moment before allowing them to chase the object.
This gives them a moment to clearly focus on the objective and to build a stronger desire to retrieve the object they seek. Thus, when they are released, they spring to the object in a flurry of motion and grasp it up easily. Another wonderful tip is to avoid the use of sticks as fetch toys. They are hard on the animal’s mouth and may contain parasites or poisonous substances, not to mention confusing the animal if you play near an area with tree growth.
With these simple techniques and tips mastered, you are ready to take to the park with your Frisbee, tennis ball or throwing dummy and enjoy a great afternoon of exercise and bonding with your pet.

Frankly, you shouldn’t even be considering creating any text based product because audio will ALWAYS outsell the text based product.

Foundation Facts – Determining the Best Base for Your Makeup Routine
Everyone has their own natural beauty. And for centuries, ladies have been using makeup in some form or fashion to enhance that beauty. These days, the cosmetic industry is booming with a plethora of products from eyebrow pencils to lipsticks to eye shadows to foundation. It is foundation, or liquid makeup, that provides the base for most women’s beauty regiments.
Obviously, with the variety of ethnicity and skin types, all foundations are not created equal. So how do you decide which foundation is right for you? First of all, you have to know where to buy your foundation. You can purchase your makeup from the grocery store or even a pharmacy. And while there are some great makeup buys at those stores like eye pencils and lipsticks, the best place to buy your foundation is a department store. The makeup counters have experienced personnel who know about the various products that complement certain skin types as well as matching the skin tone and application techniques.
One of the first things you have to consider in regards to choosing the foundation that works best for you is your skin type. What condition is your skin in? Do you have dry or flaky skin? What about oily skin? Or maybe, your skin is a combination of the two. If you are a little unsure of what may describe your skin condition, ask for the opinion of the makeup consultant at the department store beauty counter.
After determining your skin type, you have to decide which foundation formula would best suit your needs. If your skin is dry, hydrating or moisturizing foundation formulas are great choices to provide a great base for you beauty regiment. Oil control foundations work best for the oily skin. And if you are prone to breakouts, look for formulas that cater to acne-free results. When you have combination skin, you need to find a foundation formula that would suit both oiliness and dryness.
When shopping for new foundation, make sure that you are not wearing makeup already. Having a clean face will ensure that you can apply a few colors of foundation on your face without it clashing with something else. Determining your skin tone is very helpful in choosing the best foundation as the basis for your makeup. Fair skin might require a foundation with rosy undertones while a darker complexion might need something more yellow-based in color. With the multitude of skin colors – from the fair skin of Caucasians to the olive complexions of Latin descendants to the darker undertones of African Americans or Middle East Asians, there are a countless shades to choose from.
Pick the two or three shades that you think might best suit your skin tone. Apply the foundation shades at various places along your jaw line. Your skin in this area is the most true to the type of makeup color you need. Whatever you do, do not apply the makeup on your wrist or hand because these are not optimal areas to best determine the foundation’s tone and color. Because the lighting in the store is mostly fluorescent, you want to go outside in natural sunlight to look at how well the foundation blends in with your skin. Your best selection would be the one foundation that is virtually undetectable on your skin. You should be the one wearing your makeup, not the makeup wearing you.
The reason why buying your foundation at a department store is stressed is because no
one person perfects fits the standards colors you may find in a pharmacy or grocery store. For the most part, people are in between shades. The department stores offer higher end foundations that are possible to custom blend into the shade you require. Another reason that department stores are optimal for your foundation purchase is because the makeup consultants can give you tips on applying your foundation as well as suggest complementary products or alternatives that you may not have thought of like concealer or tinted sunscreen or moisturizer.
Be sure and think about what you want out of your foundation as well. Do you want light and natural or something that makes your skin more luminous for evening events? How about a satiny finish or matte finish? The possibilities are many, but your needs are few. Decide what role your makeup will play in your daily life and activities and choose the best foundation that fits that role.

Vital Vitamins and Minerals that Slow the Aging Process
As we grow older, we often wish we could turn back the clock and have the vitality of your younger days. Hormonal changes turn down our inner “thermostat” which results in a change of hormone levels. This is thought to be the primary cause of aging. The first goal would be to replace hormonal levels to the level of a healthy young adult. Then there our cell receptor sensitizers that help rejuvenate the thermostat in our brains. Let’s review a few of them and what they will do.
If you are experiencing an imbalance between estrogen and progesterone levels this can cause depression, fatigue, mood swings, memory loss and unexplained weight loss. There are several over the counter, natural ways to increase your hormonal level especially in women. The soy product has been used extensively to help balance hormone levels. There are also creams on the market that provide extra hormones when they are absorbed in the skin.
Free radicals pose one of the greatest threats to our health as we progress into the twenty-first century. What are free radicals and what do they do? Free radicals are renegade, unstable oxygen molecules that collide with other particles and tissues in our bodies. This causes a burst of light on impact. They seek out other molecules to combine with in order to gain stability. Some free radicals are good for you because they enable you to fight inflammation, kill bacteria, and help control the tone of your smooth muscles. These muscles help regulate the workings of your internal organs. When there are too many free radicals in your body, they run wild attacking not only unhealthy but also healthy parts of the body. This causes such diseases as heart disease and cancer.
Antioxidants have been found to be a successful shield against these free radicals. They alter cancer growth and act as anticarcinogens. Antioxidants are chemical substances that donate an electron to a free radical and convert it to a molecule that is harmless. Antioxidants intercept free radicals to keep them from damaging blood vessel membranes. This helps the flow of blood to the heart and brain and can against cancer causing damage. Fruits, vegetables, and grains are rich sources of antioxidant vitamins and minerals.
Carnosine is an important amino acid and natural antioxidant found in high amounts in the brain, lens of the human eye and muscle tissue. It’s capable of protecting cell membranes and cell structures. It is effective against muscle fatigue, reducing stress, hyperactivity, and helping sleep patterns.
Lycopene is another antioxidant that we have seen a lot of on television lately. The richest source of lycopene is in tomatoes and tomato products. Aging reduces levels of lycopene in the blood. Lycopene is needed in organs such as the adrenal glands, prostate, liver colon, and testes. It appears that lycopene is a protection against cancer in the digestive tract.
Lypoic acid is a co-factor in the conversion of carbohydrates to energy as well as an antioxidant. This acid is both water and fat-soluble and can eliminate free radicals in the water compartment of a cell and protects against oxidation. It breaks down sugars so that energy can be produced and is one of the most important antioxidants. It’s called the universal antioxidant because it is able to quench free radicals both in water and fat cells.
Xanthones have strong antioxidant effects on the nervous system but it also is a bitter compound and is known to produce agreeable and delightful feelings. It is a great benefit to those who suffer from depression and acts to reduce appetites and obsessions. It produces a series of hormonal reactions that triggers the release of dopamine in the pleasure centers of the brain. Dopamine is an energizing neurotransmitter, which can increase or decrease output by brain cells causing a domino effect. Dopamine helps stimulate the pituitary glad that releases growth hormone and improving the immune response. It also helps stimulate brain activity no matter what the age. Dopamine is known to decrease with aging. Blueberries are considered a big part of reversal in motor dysfunction that occurs with aging and dopamine deficiency.
